One Dallas Center

If you’re looking to embrace your inner Irish side or kiss the Blarney Stone (metaphorically speaking, of course), there are plenty of opportunities near One Dallas Center to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Here are two of the most popular events to try:

39th Anniversary Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival

This event is touted as the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Southwest. And it’s no wonder why. More than 90 float entries and in excess of 1,700 parade participants wend their way through a 2-mile route running from the intersection of Greenville and Blackwell streets all the way to the crossing of Yale/SMU boulevards and 75 Central Expressway.

The fun also includes food trucks and activities for all ages.

While the 39th Anniversary Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival celebrates all things Irish, the best part is that proceeds from parade entries benefit the GAABA Scholarship Fund. To date, Dallas ISD students have won more than $115,000 in scholarship money.

The festival starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 17, with the parade kicking off at 11 a.m.

St. Patrick’s Slay Weekend

Looking for a new spin on the classic holiday? How about trying something that’ll definitely make your head spin? Then St. Patrick’s Slay Weekend at Dark Hour is just what you’re looking for. This Irish-themed haunted house challenges you to make it past the Irish witch Shannon MacKenna, who rose to power in the Dark Hour coven when the veil between faeries and humans was weakest. She called upon her legion of mythical creatures to secure power, including leprechauns, Fomorian giants, trolls, faeries, and goblins. She ordered them to hunt humans and taunt them on the holiday. As the mystical creatures seek vengeance for years of human domination, you’ll need more than a four-leaf clover to survive.

St. Patrick’s Slay Weekend is set for 8 p.m.-11 p.m. nightly Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17. Tickets start at $28. Dark Hour is located at 701 Taylor Drive in Plano. For more information, call (469) 298-0556 or email info@darkhourgroup.com.
