Jacksonville State University has been named a 2018-19 Military-Friendly Gold School by Victory Media a veteran-owned business that advocates for civilian opportunities for veterans.
The Military Friendly Gold distinction comes after JSU exceeded Victory Media standards in six categories: academic policies and compliance, admissions and orientation, culture and commitment, financial aid and assistance, graduation and career, and military student support and retention.
In a website posting that details the distinction, Victory Media lauds JSU’s “dedicated staff and programs that are tailored to support service members and veterans as they transition from service to college and college to careers.”
JSU Director of Veteran Services Justin Parker points out that this is the second year in a row that JSU has received the distinction.
“It is a testament to JSU’s continuing efforts to provide outstanding service to all of our military-connected students,” he says. “At JSU, we are committed to making the transition from the military to college as smooth as possible.”
